Splurge vs. Steal
Splurge vs. Steal – Shoes
I love doing these posts as it’s a great way to see which stylish shoes you can find for an awesome deal. I am all for another similar stylish piece for significantly less. Unless, of course you really want and can afford the real deal! Take a look at my picks below.
I own the Steve Madden Stecy Sandals & Michael Kors Bromley OTK boots 😉
Stuart Weitzman Nudist Sandals $385 vs. Steve Madden Stecy Sandals $79.95
Stuart Weitzman 5050 boots $635 vs. Michael Kors Bromley OTK boots $250
Giuseppe Zanotti Sneaker Wedges $1395 vs. Aldo Kainer Sneaker Wedges $80
Birkenstock Arizona Sandals $120 vs. Steve Madden Bearfoot Sandals $59.95
Similar Item vs. Replica Item
In relation to finding a good deal on a similar product, I am not loving it when there is an exact duplicate of the original. I do not condone fake or imitation items. Personally I don’t have anything against those who do purchase these items.. I just hope those who support the industry understand that luxury designer items are really expensive for a reason; they are made with utmost care and craftsmanship. The industry is deregulated and plays a major role in the global economy. These products are made with inferior quality and are not up to the best standards.
For example, a fake Chanel bag for sale on eBay (for $1000s of dollars) imposing to be an authentic.
Duplicate items can be produced in terrible conditions using hazardous low quality materials and could even involve child labour. I buy the majority of my items directly from the boutique or sometimes via consignment. I exercise due diligence in verifying the authenticity of the products I purchase.
LUST4LABELS TIP: If you ever find yourself in a situation where you have been duped by a replica item from an online purchase, you can escalate a paypal claim. Paypal usually closes these cases in the favor of buyers. Paypal is one of the SAFEST ways to conduct online business.
